Omani inflation increases

Omani inflation accelerated to a record 7.6 percent in November (from 6.8 percent in October) as the cost of rents and food increased, the Ministry of Economy said.
The price of food increased 12,6 percent, while rents jumped 11 percent.

On january 15th, the ruler of Oman, Sultan Qaboos bin Said called on the government to study the causes of accelerating inflation and how tackle it, urging limits to be imposed on price increases.
